Old Fred's blog contained many comments to the effect that since Carnevale resigned it meant...
+ He was guilty of crimes
+ Mayor Bonfanti was guilty of crimes
+ Chief Champagne was guilty as well
NOTHING has been even MENTIONED to imply that there was even a crime committed... at least not yet.
But many are ready to become judge, jury and executioners all in the same breath.
Let's see what happens folks. Just my take on this sad state of affairs.
It's embarrassing how Fred ran away like a coward. I'm disgusted. I used to think very highly of the guy and his blog. Just when he was getting close to proving that this is a corrupt administration, he disappers under pressure. Shame, Shame Fredo.

Freds last posts proves that nobody is laughing at city hall. The midget and his buddy DC are finished in this city. As for Fred being the coward thats the pot calling the kettle ANON. What have you done for the city? I will tell you what NOTHING. Or maybe you are wrapped up in the scrape metal crime with them. Are you part of the old boys network? It is time for that network to be put out to pasture. We will be bringing in a good honest network. One that will listen to the people rather than crap all over them. A few points.
1) It is an amazing amount of work to run a blog... at least one worth reading and commenting at. Add to this Old Fred's self appointed task of 'undercover' research and it is more like a non-paying full-time job. Few, if anyone, has both the time and resources for such an endeavor.
I have locked heads with many of OFs posts and tactics, and I have called him on those points. I also applauded him when he deserved it... and even defended him when he was attacked unjustly (or childishly).
2) I can only imagine that OF was threatened with either exposure or a lawsuit or both. Again, few , if any of us, would be willing to let that happen to us either.
Remember, EVERYONE here is ANONYMOUS... until the police department feels like investigating and then they can easily find out who you are. It is that simple. In fact, this Boston Globe article (and the comments) seem to indicate it is actually not so difficult for ANYONE to do it.
So... simply understand this.
3) I am pretty mystified at this point as to WHAT actually happened at the DPW that is supposed to (according to the many who claim to know) end up with Mr. Carnevale, Mayor Bonfanti and Chief Champagne all in jail.
So far what I have read and understand...
Fred says that some scrap metal was stolen from City stores and sold illegally.
Next we read a rumor is going to be investigated.
Then we read Carnevale has resigned to pursue his military career.
Then a big dust-up because he was driven home - I still don't understand the point of that... I mean if he resigned on the spot then he would need to turn over his car... thus would need a ride home? Is that the big brou-haha?
And now... nothing new.
So, if you all know, what is the reason everyone is going to jail???
4) And finally...
I do not think Fred is a coward or a jerk... or a hero either. He is someone who liked to rattle the cages of his 'nut-house' called Peabody... especially when it might get the goat of an elected official... not my style, but his postings did allow many others to express their opinions... and that was not so bad.
PI come on man Fred posted the Rumor mill then everything really falls into place.
As for the Chief driving him home. The SEN said and investigation was started. Who is heading up that investigation. If it is the PPD then the everything said to the chief on that ride can not be used in a court of law.
Nice read in the Peabody Weekly on the DC thing. Also nice read on the Middle School Reno in the Daily Item. Take a peek at the SC telling the Mayor he has to apporve the Teachers contract in the weekly as well.

Run it into the ground but after 40 years here I am finally leaving. House is sold trucks are packed and on my way over to Lynnfield. Smaller house but way better management.
